Stock Categories & Variants

Within your stock module you can create categories and variants against different products within your product list. These are often used if you have a product that comes in different sizes and different colours. So, the product number stays the same but you have the ability to have variations within that product number.

To create a new category

Follow these steps to learn how to create categories and variants:

  1. Go to the "Stock" tab
  2. Choose "Categories and variants" from the left-hand menu
  3. Click "New category"

Now fill in the category and variant names:

Information about the fields:

Field Action
Category Type the name of your category, "T-shirts" for example
Variant 1 Name of your first variant , such as "Size"
Variant 2 Name of your second variant , such as "Colour"

To create new variations

Once you've created your category and variant names, you must then create the sizes and colours of your variations.

To create your first variations:

  1. Click on the first icon to edit the "Size"
  2. Click "Create variant"
  3. Write the "Size" ("S", "M" or "L" for example)
  4. Click 'OK'

To create your second variations:

  1. Click on the second icon "Colour"
  2. Click "Create variant"
  3. Write the "Colour" (e.g. "Blue")
  4. Click 'OK'

Note: You can easily remove the category of a product if you have not sent orders or booked invoices, ordered/received goods, or booked vendor invoices for which you have used variants in the category.
