Bounced e-mails
What do you do if your customer does not receive any of your e-mails from E-conomic (if your emails are bounced)?
In E-conomic, we handle and show bounced e-mails as much as we possibly can. As in many other companies, at E-conomic we distinguish between "soft " bounced e-mails and "hard" bounced e-mails.
A "soft" mail bounce is an e-mail received from the customer's server.
The "soft" bounced mails are for instance:
- Out of Office Assistant is enabled
- When an e-mail is sent to a full mailbox
When these soft bounced e-mails are received, they will NOT be shown as bounced emails in your outbox.
A "hard bounced” e-mail is for example:
- An incorrect e-mail address
- An incorrect domain (i.e. the portion of the address that comes after the "@")
- If the e-mail is perceived as spam by the mailbox server
Unfortunately, sometimes the receiving e-mail servers do not return an e-mail with the wrong e-mail address, and in these cases, E-conomic is not told that the e-mail was sent to the wrong address. If this happened, the e-mail will not be shown as Bounced in your E-conomic “Outbox”.
Note: We urge you to make sure that you maintain/update the email addresses you have on file for your customers so that your emails do not reach them by mistake.
E-mail as link
If you would like a confirmation that your customer has opened your e-mail, then you can send your e- mail as a link.
To send an email as a link:
- After you have clicked on "Book invoice", check the box "Book and e-mail” and then click on the inverted pyramid.
- Now you can choose to send your invoice as “Yes – link only” to your customer. When the customer clicks the link, it will automatically generate a message to E-conomic that the invoice has been opened and its status will now say "Opened".
- Now you know that they have received and opened your mail!
