Add-on Modules

With in E-conomic you have the capability of adding additional modules that link into the core accounting functionality.

To access one or more Add-on Modules

1.Click ‘Settings’ > ‘Subscription’ > ‘Add-on modules’
2.Click the ‘Edit’ icon to the right
3.Check the ‘Access’ box
4.Confirm your choice. (If a dialogue box does not appear, please see the article about pop-up blocking.)
5.Click ‘OK’

To end subscription to an Add-on Module:

1.Click ‘Settings’ > ‘Subscription’ > ‘Add-on modules’
2.Click the ‘Edit’ icon to the right
3.Remove the checkmark from the ‘Access’ box
4.Click ‘OK’
Access to new products is immediate. The next invoice will reflect the changes.
Note that a term of notice may apply to product cancellations.


Dimension/Departments

With the add-on module Dimension you can distribute your company’s income and expenses to different departments, prepare budgets at department level and print balances, turnover statistics etc. for the individual departments in order to assess the profitability of each department. This guide describes how you create departments and distribution keys, distribute expenses and income to the individual departments, prepare a budget at department level and where you print reports for a department.

Fixed assets

This module enables you to create, manage and depreciate your company's fixed assets. Please note that the module can be used only to depreciate fixed assets on a straight-line basis. The module appears as sub-menu item on the ‘Bookkeeping’ tab.

Prepayments/Deferred revenue

This add-on module enables you to distribute expenses (e.g., insurance premiums, rent or lease agreements) over several periods.

The module appears as sub-menu items on the ‘Bookkeeping’ and ‘Report’ tabs. This module can also be used for deferred revenue.

Scanning

If you scan your documents into e-conomic, you avoid long rows of files and piles of paper. At the same time, your documents will always be close at hand when you need them. With e-conomic’s Scanning module, documents are available anytime, anyplace. This means that you or an accountant/bookkeeper can book documents directly on screen. Your accountant no longer needs to receive the document files by post for the annual audit. Documents are linked to the individual entries, so you can always retrieve the document on screen from a ledger card or entries list and print it out or e-mail it to others. Scanning documents in e-conomic is easy and you can use any type of scanner. The only requirement is that the scanner or the scanner software is able to save scanned documents in the GIF, JPG/JPEG or PDF file formats.

Subscription

- Set up a subscription and link a product or service – you are now well on the way to use e-conomic’s add-on module Subscription. The module is specially developed for companies that need to invoice a product or service at specific intervals. This can be collection of membership fees, rent, web hosting or payment for the “Weekly cleaning service”. The options are limitless. There are no limits on the type or number of subscriptions and you can link several subscriptions to one customer. This guide describes how you create subscriptions, link products/services and customers and how you mass invoice and book subscription invoices.

API

Application programming interface. If you are looking for a user-friendly and efficient way of exchanging data between e-conomic and your company's other IT systems, the API module is the solution.

With e-conomic's API it's possible, for instance, to integrate other databases with e-conomic allowing the various databases to exchange information and service each other.

Stock Management

The Stock Management add-on module is fully integrated with the e-conomic core accounting funtionality, enabling you to add stock via supplier invoices and invoice stock out to your customers through the sales system.

Project Accounting

With e-conomic’s Project Accounting module, you can set up projects, link activities and assignments and enter hours, mileage, expenses and materials costs.

The module’s reports also ensure that you can always obtain an overview of hours used, the level of expenses and project earnings.

This guide describes how you set up the module, integrate it with the general ledger, accounts receivable and invoicing modules and use it to enter and invoice hours and costs connected with activities and projects.

The guide assumes that you are either a superuser or have access to both the entire base module and the Project Accounting module. It also assumes that you are familiar with project management principles.

We recommend that you read the guide thoroughly before taking the module into use.
