Subscription types

In order to use the subscription module to send invoices to your customers, you must create your subscription types.

To create a subscription type:

  1. Click ‘Sales’ > ‘Customers’ > ‘Subscriptions’
  2. Click ‘New subscription’ above the list area
  3. Edit the fields Details
  4. Click ‘OK’

Details about the fields:

Note: not all fields are mandatory.

Field Action
No.The desired number for the subscription type. Numeric only.
Name The desired name.
DescriptionA description of the subscription type.
Interval The subscription period.
Calendar basisCheck this to let e-conomic suggest the last date in the calendar period as the end date for the subscription period. (E.g., if you create a quarterly subscription on 20 February the system will suggest 31 March as the end date. If you do not select ‘Calendar basis’, the system will suggest 19 May, i.e. three months later, as the end date.)
Collection (if ’Calendar basis’ is selected)Select ‘Full’ to charge customers a full period although the subscription was created in the middle of a subscription period.Select ‘Proportional’ to charge customers only for the period from the subscription date to the end of the subscription period.
Include name as first product lineCheck this to include the subscription name in the first product line on the invoice.
Add period after name Check this to include the subscription period after the subscription name on the invoice. (This requires selection of ‘Include name as first product line’).
Allow several per customerCheck this to enable one customer to hold several subscriptions to the same subscription type.
